Children’s Ministries Admin Assistant

The Children’s Ministries Admin Assistant will assist the ARK Program Supervisor with planning and facilitating ARK events and camps.

Responsibility Statement:
As Children’s Ministries Admin Assistant you are expected to embrace the vision of NHM as outlined by the BOD and Executive Director. Using leadership in your role, you would then ensure the implementation of that vision within your realm of influence in the organization.

The Children’s Ministries Admin Assistant is responsible for maintaining good records for the ARK Program and assisting the ARK Program Supervisor with planning and facilitating ARK events and camps. Additional responsibilities may include administrative tasks in Daycare and New Horizons Child Placement Agency as needed.

This is a developing position. 1-2 days a week is expected initially, with significant growth within the first year, potentially to be full-time by summer of 2026.

Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.

Key Result Areas:

Administration: Manage the database for ARK participants and all ARK events and camp.

  • Maintain records of families and children involved in the program.
  • Schedule events and coordinate planning with venues.
  • Assist ARK Program Supervisor with camp and event details.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for Daycare, and other Children’s Ministry departments as needed.

Kids Club: Assist ARK Program Supervisor with facilitating Kids Club.

  • Lead Kids Club events when needed.
  • Coordinate volunteers for functions of Kids Club.

Summer Camps: Assist with the preparation and enrollment of Camp ARK. (seasonal)

  • Contact and invite families impacted be parental incarceration – currently or in the past.
  • Assist families and children with enrollment
  • Assist the ARK Program supervisor with volunteer recruitment and onboarding
  • Assist with facilitating Camp ARK

Experience/Training Required:
Knowledge or experience within Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms, etc) is preferred.

Experience working with children in difficult life circumstances is preferred.

New Horizons Ministries will provide training as required if not experienced or trained in that field.

Compensation:
This position may be classed as part-time or full-time based on scheduled work hours.

Full-time

This is a full-time position.  This position is not exempt, which means that overtime pay will be paid for time worked over 40 hours per week.
Paid Medical Leave, MEC, and Life Insurance is included, optional health benefits include Vision, and HDHP. Paid vacation begins to accrue after 30 days.
Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month.

Part-time

This is a part-time position consisting of 30 hours or less per week. This position is not exempt, which means that overtime pay will be paid for time worked over 40 hours per week.
Paid Medical Leave is included. No paid time off is available for part-time employees.
Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month.

No compensation will be provided for voluntary time and/or services provided and volunteered by the employee that fall outside the typical employee responsibilities for this job.
