1 in 14 children have a parent in prison and are at risk of repeating the cycle that their parents are in.

Many of these children are exposed to crime, domestic violence, and the imprisonment of their parents. Some children are born while their mom is in prison, and some experience a parent leaving to go to prison as an older child. Suddenly, one or more of the most crucial figures in their life are gone. When Adriana was born, her mother was serving a sentence in prison. Her foster parents, Jon and Michelle cared for her in their home, giving her a stable and loving environment. This was exactly what she needed to thrive in her early childhood.

Nearly half of the men and women leaving prison will return within three years.

This happened to Nate, who was in prison. After he was released, without finding personal restoration from his past life, he returned to a life of gangs and drug addictions. He soon went back to prison again, only this time, he met a New Horizons Chaplain. As Nate interacted with Chaplain Matt and other believing prisoners, He came to believe in the Gospel and chose to follow God. “I prayed and, suddenly, a feeling of freedom came over my heart.” The second time he was released, Nate chose a new life, free from gangs, addiction, and crime.

When you join us as a Monthly Unbound Member, you become part of a community committed to transforming lives through the power of the Gospel. Your monthly contributions go directly to serving people who are affected by prison.

Children’s Ministries: Preventing the cycle of incarceration starts with supporting children who are at risk of following in their parents’ footsteps of crime. Your monthly support ensures these children receive:

  • Foster Care: Providing stable and nurturing Christian families where they can grow and thrive.
  • Kids Clubs: Creating safe spaces where they can learn, play, and receive mentoring.
  • Summer Camps: A week-long in the summer for children to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and receive biblical teaching.

Prison Ministries: For men and women currently in prison, intervention is crucial to redirect their lives toward a life of freedom.

  • Full-Time Chaplains: Trained leaders who offer biblical teaching and discipleship, guiding prisoners toward a path of redemption and life-long transformation.
  • Discipleship Programs: Structured support that helps prisoners build a new life based on biblical values. This happens through weekly Bible studies, special events, Sunday chapel services, and one-on-one conversations with a chaplain.

Mom Care: Supporting pregnant women in prison and helping them adjust to life after release is essential for their transformation. Your monthly gift provides:

  • Childbirth Education: Essential knowledge to prepare for a healthy delivery.
  • Birth Assistants: Trained Doulas can attend births when a woman in prison goes into labor, providing emotional and physical support.
  • Re-Entry: Continued guidance and support after release, helping new mothers adjust to life outside prison and care for their children.
