Why Discipleship?

For adults who are incarcerated, discipleship can change everything.

17,000 people in Colorado are incarcerated.

For many, release from prison is not the end of their sentence—it’s the beginning of an uphill battle. A criminal record makes it difficult to find stable employment and housing.

Without consistent support and mentorship, many face overwhelming barriers that push them back toward old patterns.

The weight of addiction, poverty, and past influences can be stronger than their will to change. Without a community that believes in them, the cycle repeats—addiction, crime, prison—again and again.

Discipleship Changes Everything

Connection

Incarceration isolates individuals, breaking relationships and support systems, making reintegration into society and stability extremely difficult.

Once relationships are strained, individuals feel alone until someone steps in, offering time, support, and genuine care.

Hope

Individuals impacted by incarceration face stigma and hardship, trapping them in despair and making a better future seem impossible.

With consistent support, individuals realize their circumstances don’t define them, they are not alone, and hope rises with the possibility of true freedom.

Spiritual Healing

Incarceration causes deep shame and brokenness, leaving many feeling unworthy, distant from God, and unable to find healing.

With the freedom found in Christ, deep emotional and spiritual wounds begin to heal, restoring relationships with God, self, others, and the world.

Life Transformation

Without guidance and opportunity, individuals leaving incarceration struggle with barriers that lead to relapse, crime, and instability.

Transformation occurs when stability flourishes, purpose is reclaimed, and individuals not only thrive but also help others find restoration and build incarceration-free futures.

How Do We Break The Cycle Of Incarceration?

We provide full-time chaplains for spiritual guidance, one-on-one mentorship to walk alongside individuals, and discipleship that leads to a saving faith in Christ. Through consistent support and a strong faith community, we help individuals heal from their past, rebuild their lives, and find lasting freedom.

Discipleship looks different in each stage of the journey

We recognize that everyone has a unique journey. Our focus is on meeting them where they are with empathy and understanding, creating a space where they feel valued, heard, and seen. We ensure each person feels welcomed and cared for on their journey toward spiritual healing and life transformation.

  • Full-Time Chaplains: Offering consistent support and spiritual care.
  • One-on-One Conversations: Providing personalized care to build trust and offer hope.
  • Singalong Services: Creating community and connection through worship.
  • Christmas Gifts: Small gestures that show they are remembered and valued.

With consistent care and support, a realization unfolds—your situation does not define you, and you are not alone. Hope rises as the possibility of true freedom becomes clear. We walk alongside individuals, helping them discover the path to an incarceration-free future.

  • Sunday Morning Services: Gathering for worship and fellowship, strengthening spiritual connections.
  • Bondage to Freedom Seminars: Providing tools and guidance for overcoming challenges and finding freedom.
  • Regular Bible Studies: Deepening understanding of God’s Word and its power to transform lives.

As individuals accept the freedom found in Christ, healing begins for deep emotional and spiritual wounds. We walk with them, guiding them toward restored relationships with God, themselves, others, and the world around them.

  • Faith in Christ: Embracing the transformative power of faith for true healing.
  • Healing from Trauma: Addressing past hurts and finding freedom through emotional and spiritual restoration.
  • Baptism: Marking the step of renewal and public declaration of new life in Christ.

True transformation happens when those once trapped in the cycle of incarceration become leaders, mentors, and beacons of hope for others. As individuals experience healing, grow in faith, and rebuild their lives, they step into a new role—not just staying out of prison, but actively guiding others toward freedom and restoration. The mentee becomes the mentor, breaking the cycle for future generations.

Their lives radiate purpose, inspiring and influencing those around them. They embrace restored relationships and thrive in a positive community. Stability flourishes as they walk with confidence in their God-given identity.
