For families with a loved one in prison, relationships are strained and trust is broken.
We believe change happens in the context of trusting relationships. Your support allows ministry staff and chaplains to walk alongside families who are affected by incarceration through:
- Summer camps and kids clubs
- Foster families
- Prison outreach and chaplaincy
- Spiritual care for the whole family
Your generosity makes relationships possible and ensures kids and adults do not have to face incarceration alone.

When You Help Change a Child’s Story, You Change a Family’s Future

Isaiah, a young camper at New Horizons' Camp ARK, attended last summer while his father was in prison. He spent his days kayaking, ziplining, and sitting around a campfire with friends who understood his story. Throughout the week, staff mentors shared about Christ’s love for him. It was spoken in a way that reached his heart. At the end of the week, Isaiah told his father, Sam, who was incarcerated, “It was the best week of my summer!”
Inside one of the prison facilities where we serve, Sam stopped by the chaplain’s office and said, “I probably wouldn’t have come, but after hearing what Camp ARK did for my son, I wanted to talk.” The chaplain welcomed him and offered a listening ear, creating space for deeper conversation about faith and hope.
That moment opened the door for spiritual conversation, discipleship, and healing. This is our vision in action: strengthening both parent and child, rebuilding broken relationships, and guiding families into a life in Christ.
Together, we can break generational cycles of incarceration.
Stories like Isaiah and Sam’s reveal what makes New Horizons unique. We are not simply providing programs, but building a ministry shaped by distinct qualities that guide how we serve children and families impacted by incarceration. These values define how we walk alongside those we serve:
- True Transformation Comes Through Christ
We believe lasting life transformation begins only with a relationship with Jesus. - A Generational Approach
We disrupt the cycle of incarceration for parents and children by understanding and addressing their real and perceived needs. - Commitment to Lasting Relationships
People are able to change when surrounded by trusting relationships rooted in Christ. We build long-term relationships with recipients, donors, agencies, and partners because change happens in the context of trust.
The Difference You Make
From the earliest days of God’s people, those set apart for ministry have been sustained by the faithful gifts of others. The Levites devoted themselves to the work of the temple through the support of God’s people, and Paul reminded the church that those who proclaim the gospel should receive their living from the gospel. Following this Biblical pattern, we invite you to join in supporting those called to this work so that children, families, and incarcerated men and women can continue to be surrounded by Christ-centered care and discipleship. Impact is made possible when the body of Christ lives out this calling together.
Your support helps:
- Provide daily, Christ-centered care for men and women in prison through full-time chaplains
- Surround children with consistent mentors who build trust and stability
- Give families opportunities to reconnect and heal through Camp ARK, Kids Clubs, and Family Events
Together, we can provide support so that no family faces incarceration alone and that each one has the opportunity to encounter hope, healing, and transformation in Christ.
