New Child Care HouseEnable a new Childcare house by fulfilling its transportation needs.

We are opening a new Childcare house. Its purpose is to care for children born to women in prison. Just because of having an incarcerated parent, they have a much higher risk of going to prison someday. Children will have their physical and emotional needs met by living in this house. Each one will have a nanny dedicated to providing the connection and security the child needs for a healthy start to life.

The house is ready, the houseparents have arrived, and children need a home like this as much as ever before. Unfortunately, there is still one major roadblock to putting this home into operation—no vehicles are available for the household to use. Having transportation needs met is essential to the long-term success of the household.

In our experience, we have seen the necessity of each Childcare house having the following three types of vehicles.

  • Fifteen Passenger Van
    This is the big one. We facilitate visits in prison between the child and mother. This van will carry the children and their nannies to the visit on a weekly basis.
  • Mini Van
    House parents and nannies can easily drive this smaller vehicle for trips to the grocery store, church events, and similar short trips.
  • Four-Door Car
    House Dads have many responsibilities. A car helps them get around without depriving the other household members of a vehicle.

Since staff are coming soon, we have a temporary plan in place. But the household needs these three vehicles for long-term operation. Would you please consider donating to help fill this need?

Someone just donated this vehicle! The donor heard of the need for vehicles and decided to do something about it! Their gift will be very important in caring for children born to women in prison.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to purchase this minivan. It will make a difference in the lives of many children of incarcerated mothers.
