A Chaplain Answers the Question, “Why Prison Ministry?” (Video)

Jun, 2023 | Chaplaincy Program, Prison Ministry

When New Horizons began, we saw a need to care for children whose mothers were incarcerated. Over time, it became clear that the need stretched greater than only children. To effectively care for children, we would need to help their parents get out of the cycle they were in. Now, New Horizons chaplains serve many facilities, discipling men and women in prison.

“Every person behind bars matters, and we want to give them a chance to find Jesus. Jesus is the way; He is the truth; He is the life. For someone to come to the Father is what it is all about, and it’s why we exist to break the cycle of incarceration.” — Chaplain Caleb Mast
